Our novelty completion shoots are a ton of fun. We offer a variety of different shoots on Friday and Saturday to test your skills and challenge your buddies. The competition shoots cost $1 per round so bring some cash along and have fun! There are different levels for the competitions from kids groups to women to sen-iors, each will have its own level. Here’s is a list and a brief overview of each one of our competition shoots we put on:
Meat Swing - Friday
Members of all ages line up to shoot a swinging target in order to win a frozen turkey, ham, hot dogs or other meats. The cost is minimal and the fun is non-stop for all ages!
Balloon Shoot - Friday
A timed, team event
Teams of two shoot balloons from about 15 yards for the youngsters and 25 yards for the adults. Shooters are timed to see how quickly their team can break four balloons. The cost is minimal and you can enter multiple times to ensure you put up your best time. Participants may also enter in more than one team division. Medals are awarded to the top three fin- ishers for youth, women, men and co-ed categories.
Distance Shoot - Friday
Don’t let the name fool you
This event isn’t so much about distance but marksmanship, while using unconventional bow equipment. Contes tants of all ages can test their shooting skills on a 3D target placed at an unknown distance, with a small bottle cap designating the center of the ‘kill zone.’ All participants, regardless of age or gender, will use the bow provided, with a very low draw weight, and shoot from the same location. An entry fee buys three arrows. The distance from your closest arrow to the bottle cap will be measured. Participants may enter as many times as they wish to better their scores. Medals will be award- ed to the top three scorers in the youth boys’, youth girls’ (12 and under), women’s and men’s divisions.
Silhouette Shoot - Friday
Archers of all ages judged on quickness and accuracy
Participants shoot rubber, silhouette targets placed at various distances, depending on age and gender. An entry fee buys three arrows. Participants may enter as many times as they wish to better their scores. Medals will be awarded to the top three scorers in the youth boys’ and youth girls’ (12 and under), women’s and men’s divisions.
Robin Hood Run - Saturday
Cross-country race, testing marksmanship and endurance
Participants race through a forest course to shoot at designated 3D targets. This is a timed event, with seconds deducted for targets hit in the vitals, and seconds added for missed targets. So if you are lacking in the speed department, you can make up time for well-placed shots! Medals are presented to the top three runners in each division.
Ladies’ divisions include PeeWee (10 & under), Youth (11-14), Teen (15-19), Young Adults (20-29), Adult (30-39), Masters (40-49), Seniors (50 & over).
Men’s divisions include PeeWee (age 10 and under), Youth Male (age 11-14), Teen Males (age 15-19), Young Adult Male (age 20-29), Adult Male (age 30- 39), Men’s Masters (age 40-49), Men’s Seniors (age 50-59), and Ishi (age 60 and over). Follow the signs Saturday morning to the event site.
Aerial Shoot - Saturday
Test your aim and coordination in the bowhunter version of trap shooting
Archers use the provided flu-flu arrows to aim at circular, foam targets as they fly through the air. An entry fee buys three arrows. Participants are welcome to enter as many times as they wish. Medals will be awarded to the top three scorers in the youth (12 and under), women’s and men’s divisions.
White Buffalo Hunt - Saturday
This ‘true’ long distance shoot has distance targets for youth and women, in addition to the traditional men’s White Buffalo target. All targets will be set at unknown distances - no range finders allowed on the line, or in the crowd. Test your ability to guess the distance and adjust your shots ‘on-the-fly.’ An entry fee buys three arrows. Participants may enter as many times as they wish to better their scores. Medals will be awarded to the top three scorers in the youth (12 and under), women’s and men’s divisions.
