NBA Record Book
Rules for Inclusion in the NBA Records:
All big game animals, with the exception of
turkey, must be scored by an official Pope & Young or Boone & Crocket
measurer or any qualified Nebraska State Game Official. The NBA follows
all Scoring System rules and Fair Chase rules of the Pope & Young
Club. All scores must be sent to the Records Chairman. Turkeys must
be weighed on a certified scale and a slip with the weight and signature of the
person certifying the weight must accompany the score form. In
addition, the length of both the left and right spur and length of beard or
beards are to be measured, to the nearest 1/16 inch, by any Pope & Young
measurer, NBA area rep or board member. These measurements along with the
certified weight slip are to be sent to the Records Chairman. Bull elk must
be scored; cow elk also qualify.
